tiny scraps of love

Tiny scraps of love

I regret not posting sooner. I haven’t been able to crochet much in the past few days because I’ve strained my hand…probably from the stress of crocheting so much lately (which, let’s be honest, isn’t a bad thing). I did happen to make up a few motifs and little things last week to get rid of some yarn scraps, and I think they might just be perfect to help spread some love this Valentine weekend.

(Also I apologize for the poor image quality…I had to use the camera on my phone :/ )

Heart motif

These are the perfect little gift to share with any loved one or friend (or, if you’re brave enough, hand them out to random people…they may just need a little sign of love). I found this free pattern from The Painted Hinge and it truly is a super easy pattern to follow. I pretty much had it memorized from the first heart I made. These motifs are adorable in any size — my smallest hearts are made from crochet thread. I’m thinking about turning some into earrings soon.

Tiny pouch/gift bag

Neon yarn doesn’t exactly photograph well on a phone camera…

Another view of the pouch/gift bag

When I set out to make this pouch, I had the intention of making it into a coin bag for my purse. After I finished, I realized the bottom had too many openings for coins to fall out so it wasn’t exactly ideal. But it is a lovely little bag! I found this free little pouch pattern from Elisabeth Andree, and I think it could make the perfect little gift bag for a small Valentine gift. Elisabeth also gives some more suggestions on what to do with this tiny pouch here.

And another little thing…

So when I couldn’t quite find the coin purse pattern I was looking for, I decided to make my own. I’ll eventually write up the pattern and post it on here, but I want to make a few more first before I share.

I added the heart motifs on the ends of the closing string of this one because I plan to use it as a gift bag for a friend. I made another, larger version (which I didn’t photograph) that I’m using for my coin purse. I’ll try to write up the pattern once my hand heals and I get to crocheting again, so be on the look out for it!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, whether you’re spending it with a loved one or friends, or if you’re just treatin’ yo self.
